Alleyway Theatre

BUFFALO, NY

Alleyway put out a call to artists to create a mural design for their lobby that was modern and exciting, but still paid homage to their history. The Theatre is housed in what once was a 1940s Greyhound Bus Terminal.

I dove into the history of its architect, William S. Arrasmith, and researched the Art/Streamline Moderne movement that gave birth to the building’s unique style. I took the movement’s shapes and created a collage that was simplistic enough to be modern, but still carried the theme.

I had a blast working with the team at Alleyway, and spent about a week and a half painting this 900+ square foot beaut.
