HOWELLMADE GLASSWORKS
Nicole Howell is a stained glass artisan, but not the kind we’re used to. Nicole puts a modern twist on the medium, and wanted a logo to represent this, preparing her Etsy shop for success.
We didn’t want the design to be flowery or complicated, like what most people associate with stained glass. The final product is a clean, geometric logo that’s sturdy, professional and shows her dedication to the craft.
It might look more modern, but the mark still has deeper connections to the past. The design takes inspiration from the Prairie School movement, specifically to the work of Marion Mahony Griffin, one of the world’s first licensed female architects. Mahony Griffin propelled Frank Lloyd Wright to success with her renderings and contributions to his projects, some of which were incredible leaded windows and lamps.
